Scalable DC charging square with stand-alone busbar trunking system designed for growth and high power density.

Scalable DC charging square with stand-alone busbar trunking system designed for growth and high power density.

For this location, NL Mobility applied a stand-alone busbar trunking system specifically designed for large-scale DC charging infrastructure. The busbar trunking is secured in the transformer station with a circuit breaker and acts as a central energy backbone along the entire length of the charging plaza.

Branch boxes were installed along the busbar trunking to which several DC chargers from Ecotap were connected. A total of three types of chargers have been realized:

  • 12× Ecotap DC 30 kW
  • 18× Ecotap DC 60 kW
  • 3× Ecotap DC 180 kW, each suitable for two outputs of 90 kW

This setup allows for flexible distribution of payloads across the fleet, tailored to HelloFresh’s operational needs.

The use of the rail duct system makes the site scalable and future-proof. Expansion or reconfiguration of charging points can take place without major infrastructure modifications. In addition, excessive use of copper cables is avoided, which not only saves material but also ensures an uncluttered, low-maintenance installation.

Advantages of the applied technique:

Easily expand without new main power supplies

Centrally protected and locally branchable

Lower material requirements and neat construction

Suitable for higher power and changing charging requirements

Modular design speeds installation and adjustments
